Unhappy electrical

I am installing after market remote starter and keyless entry..... Says i need resistors tells me the ohms 2-2000ohm , 1- 5200 ohm , and a 180 ohm but it does not tell me the watts ... Never really woked with resistors before where do i get them? Can i use the ones they sell at Radio shack and if so what wattage do i need .. Or am i way off and i need 12 volt resistors? they are for the park lamps and the door locks and the starter hook up. thanks ...

Re: electrical

Yes you can use the ones from Ratshack. if they don't have them they can order them for you. Take your specs to them to let them know exactly what you need. I don't think that watts are important. What you are doing is resisting the voltage to a lower level to prevent burnouts and future problems. Not everything on these newer vehicles are 12volts anymore. Make sure you insulate them when you done to prevent shorting. It also best to solder your connections, so you don't have to go back in there a couple months later to find out why something quit working.
