Unhappy Yukon Horn chirps when key is turned on

On my 2003 YukonXL, when I turn the ignition key to on, the horn chips three time very rapidly. There are no warning lights displayed. I tried reprogramming the remote key fobs but that did not remedy. Any words of wisdon out there. Thanks

Re: Yukon Horn chirps when key is turned on

Do you know the history of your Yukon? It may have an aftermarket alarm or remote start hidden on it....from a Dealer or a previous owner...

Re: Yukon Horn chirps when key is turned on

I purchased this Yukon one month ago from a dealer so I don't know the original owner. I have no idea if the previous owner installed a remote start. The chirping began yesterday.

Smile Re: Yukon Horn chirps when key is turned on

well after reading you question, I went looking. There appears to be some typy of small receiver, about 1 inch square, installed (aftermarket) below the steering column. I did the typical newbee attempt at fixing by jiggling the wires. To my surprise, it worked. Horn chirping is gone. My question now is, can I just disconnect that devise, or if I wanted to use it, is there some way to get a remote device to activate it. Thanks for your help.

See if you can a name on the box and a model number- and see if there are any switches or lights attached. This will help us identify it...
