2004 Turbo - ? on not wanting to shift to start
Hello - I'm new to this. I've a very nice 2004 Turbo. I've 72,500 miles on it. I've had since 17,000 miles. Around 50,000 - I did have the transmission flushed. I live where it is cold ....10 degrees at night but do not think is the problem in that started intermittently in the Fall. The car drives great around town and on the freeway. But started slowly and now more and more often - I live in Apt. with car port and very slight hill. I have to have my foot on the brake (part way) to back out. Then when go out of R to D - does not move. Sometimes will move forward (limp in feature). I can turn the car off and put my foot fully on the brake and restart - usually then will go into D. But sometimes takes a couple of tries. Seems to do when car has sat somewhere over night. The most current situation was yesterday - started the car - pulled out to road about 25 feet away. Car went about 50 feet and I had to pull over slightly and put my foot on the brake (snow on sides of the road but road dry) for another car to get by. Then all of a sudden - car would not move forward at all. Was in drive. This has happened when I'm in park and go to shift to D or R too. So I turned the car on and off and did fine again. Help - is a mystery to me. I am thinking a sensor of some sort but when went to a shop (not a dealer) said could only see when the car does the problem which of coarse is intermittent. Even though the car has been restarting - is scary to me when this does this. Thanks for any suggestions out there. gem2005us
