Exclamation Straight Pipes

I have an 87 iroc -z with a modified 350 with a TPI setup. The previous owner added a 3 in. Flowmaster setup with an 80 series muffler (still has stock manifolds and Y pipe). I'm in the process of removing the cat as it has started to breack apart (was previously gutted) and is now causing a slight miss in the engine. Since i already have 3 in. pipe running over the rearend i was wondering if i could just remove the muffler and run a 3 in. pipe to a chrome tip and call it done. I've heard this not only gives a much better sound but also increases power.

Re: Straight Pipes

You'd be better off getting some aftermarket headers.

Re: Straight Pipes

Straight pipes will also get you unwanted attention from the police, piss off your neighbors and make it so loud in the car you can't hear yourelf think.
