Dead 1998 Sonoma

This started two days ago and is intermittent.... Truck is running fine then....dead. No dash lights.....no headlights......no interior lights....nothing happens when I turn the key. I checked the battery and it was OK. I looked for a loose connection under the dashboard and eventually lights came on and the truck fired right off. I don't know what I did to resolve the problem....this AM nothing worked.... Any suggestions?

Welcome to AF.
Proper testing first.
Go to fuse boxes and see if everything has power first.
