P0116 ECT Circuit Range/Performance CEL Help

I'm getting this code from a CEL light scan. 2004 Rodeo w/3.5 direct injection. The Autozone store said their scanner shows "Coolant Temp Range". I'm guessing it's the coolant temp sensor (edit: I replaced the CET sensor- P0116 returned.)

This truck has always rev-ed high and lingered on high on any cold start. It's has worsened lately with the recently added dimension of a start up cold idle that revs then slows and revs again.

Thanks

Re: P0116 ECT Circuit Range/Performance CEL Help

carbon in the engine removed twice and finally it turned out to be a fauly catalytic converter--which apparently was causing the carbon problem
