Passkey 3 help please
I have a 2001 GTP and i'm installing a remote start. i bought a bypass module for the passkey system but i'm not sure what wires to hook it to. On top of the passkey module it looks like there are about 6 wires. Is one of these a ground and a resistance wire that i am supposed to cut into? Do these run to the BCM so i can splice into them there?
Thanks |

Re: Passkey 3 help please
there are no "resistance" wires with the PK3 system. Instead it uses a transponder in the key.
You might have the wrong bypass module. I've always used www.bulldogsecurity.com for vehicle specific wiring. Just click on "vehicle wiring diagrams" If your still not able to make sence of it, the install job is probably better left to a professional as connecting the wrong wires could cause all sorts of issues including a no start or even air bag deployment.

Re: Passkey 3 help please
Most remote start units for GM vehicles with the transponder keys require an extra key to be inserted in the bypass module. Does your's have a spot for a key?

Re: Passkey 3 help please
Thanks for the help. They sent me a Passlock II bypass instead of the correct one.
