electrical stuff

how do i connect something to my headlights?

How do i connect something to my battery?

I have a set of 9" tubes that i want to turn on when i turn on my headlights instead of putting it in my cigarette adapter

Also i have an underbody neon kit that says it has to be connected to the battery directly, i don't want to shock myself or screw it up. it comes with a manual switch that goes in the car.

For the 9" tubes, if you want them to come on with the headlights, you
have to hook up a relay between the neons and the headlight wire.
I'm not sure if your headlight wire (which you should be able to grab
under the dash or at the light switch on the steering column), will be
positive or negative...because I don't know what car you have.

Basically, you'll have the relay connected to power, ground, your
headlights, and to the neons. So, when you turn on your headlights,
it will activate the relay and turn on the neons.

As for the power, you can grab the 12v+ constant wire under the dash,
too (for the interior neons). If the underbody kit says to go directly to
the battery, and the power wire for the neons has a ring terminal on
the end....you can probably just put it on the end of the bolt that's
already on the battery terminal, and put another nut on it to keep it
there. That's what I did on mine....kind of hard to explain without a
picture.....and again, not knowing what kind of car you have.

Hope that helped.

i think the wire in the civic 98-00 for the 12v+ for the headlights is a white wire with a green stripe through it. thsat wire would be the constant for your neon setup
