FWI, the Northwoods Shelby Club has opend registration for GranPrix at the Autobahn Country Club May 16 and 17. For those of you unfamiliar with the club they are primarially Mustangs with a few Vipers and Vets mixed in. They basically run high speed tourig type events. This is an extremely fun and safe group of guys. I ran this event and their event at Road America with them last year in my Mustang. Autobahn CC is a 1st class track with friendly and helpfull staff. Would love the opportunity to meet some fellow Panoz drivers. My father will be along with his Panoz as well.

While we're on the subject of racing around tracks.

I shipped our road course car back up to the Michigan shop as its pricey and you only get limited access to tracks in Florida (once a month if you are lucky).

Expect to pay 300 bucks a day (forget about renting the tracks in Florida its ungodly and requires a P.O. from corporate).

At our local track in Michigan check it out. Testing every Wednesday night 3 hours of track time for 60 bucks. http://www.gingermanraceway.com/ Thats a great deal and many clubs meet there as well.

Why can't other tracks do this?

Both Mid America Motorplex (MAM) (IA), and Heartland Park (KS) have similar programs.

Thanks for the info, I didn't know heartland had something. MAM is a bargin. We make it there 3-5 times a year for their Fast Friday events. Open track all day for around $125. Last time we were there, there were only 6 other cars on the track all day. I put over 350 track miles on my car that day.

I live down at the Lake. Let us if you are going to heartland or MAM for a test/tune day. We are trying to go to Hallett the 14th of Feb. for a test and tune event.
