Can roof racks carry a canoe

I'm looking at an 07 Uplander with roof racks.
1. Are the roof racks noticeably noisy at highway speeds? Like humming, or vibration, or roaring noise?
2. Are the roof racks strong enough to carry a 75 lb canoe at highway speeds?

Re: Can roof racks carry a canoe

1) Never noticed any kind of noise or vibration with the factory roof racks on my 2005 Uplander;

2) They can easily handle a 75lb load, even with the wind resistance that a canoe would generate.

I use my racks to mount one of the full size Sears hard plastic roof luggage carriers. I routinely pack it with about 200 lbs of stuff and drive 1000 miles down I-95 to Florida. It drives like it's not even there.

That's an encouraging response. Thank you.
