Tamiya Lola T/93

I started my first build of 2009, Tamiya's Lola T/93

I started on the bodywork getting the engine cover into primer

Painted with Zero's Pure White and Ferrari Nero

Cleared, decals and cleared again...

Same with the front wing

Suspension cover and nose

Engine in progress

Body parts so far (not fitted properly, hence the gaps at the nose)

More to come.....

Looking good, Steve !

Your decal looks very good. Did you use original decal in the box or aftermarket decal?

Thank you Tibi, I'm glad you like it. The Zero 2K clear is the secret. With the correct thinning it really does spray on effortlessly and with minimal 'orange peel' I just gave the parts a very light polish.

Thanks for your comments. I used aftermarket Museum Collection decals.

They were a lot thinner than the Tamiya one's which were also a little old and yellowed.

Re: Tamiya Lola T/93

Great job so far Steve. Just a tip about building this kit in case you didn't already know. When the rearview mirrors are installed it is almost impossible to get the rear deck on and off. The solution I came up with is using a Microscale product called Microscale Liquitape. It is a white glue that drys clear but just remains tacky enough to hold the mirror in place but is easily removed when necessary. Then just re-attach the mirror without the need of any more glue, it stays very transparent and invisible. It is designed to hold things together temporarily.
