Arrow 1997 Venture, electrical gremlins

I know shes old and I should just give her a bullet but shes still going down the road with a few annoying problems so if anyone could point me in the right direction it would help..

1)power seat not getting full power, has 4 volts at the conector (orange/black) all fuses and circut brakers tested good

2)AC controls to switch from floor to dash not working, replaced the valve behind the knob and checked the hoses for vacumme and fuses, all OK

3)power door locks will not lock but will unlock from both buttons, keyfob does nothing

>>Im thinking body control module, if so where is it<<

Also a very annoying rattle only when parked on flat ground, running, when facing down hill it does not make noise, is there a lower motor mount or heat sheild that could cause this???

And like everyone else i have the crud in the cooling system, I flushed it and it seems ok for now, replaced it with more orange GM antifreeze because I didnt know how the 2 types would mix...

I also have a 2006 uplander, its NO better, save your money!!!

Re: 1997 Venture, electrical gremlins

Have you had any water previously or currently under the pass side carpet which most likely comes from the a/c unit/heater core drain hose coming off the firewall and leaking water any time the a/c is on? If so, there may be some shorts in the wire harness visible in a channel at the edge of the molding below the carpet. Mine has these causing many items now to resemble gremlins messing with them. You will then have to unravel the harness sleeve exposing the many wires and fixing the one that have any damage. Keep us posted as to your findings so we can help further.

As the owner of 2 '97 Ventures and a 2006 Uplander I was rather surprised at your statement. How is the Uplander not better than the Venture? When I bought my Uplander, and drove it for a bit I said to myself," They finally listened to the many complaints from Venture owners when they made this van." It rides better with 17" tires, there is much more space in the engine bay to do maintenance,4 wheel disc brakes, rear entertainment system, and the overall quality is better. I have a little over 31,500 miles currently on mine and I can say at the same point in time with the Venture, the Venture had far more issues and made more visits to the dealer than the Uplander. I just had the brakes replaced at 31000 miles and was to the dealer for the first time this past week to replace the rear wiper motor under warranty. That is it, except for routine maintenance such as oil/filter changes which I do at home.
