Couldnt beleive this when i saw this advertised, someone has developed a performance exhaust for a F1, wonder where they got the F1 to test the system on.

Re: Performance Exhaust for F1's

Well a quick guess would be chassis 040 seen as the owner has steadily been improving it for several years now but then you never know

Interesting, But...

The original iconel exhaust system was also supposed to absorb and dissipate rear crash forces. The craftsmanship of the revised system is gorgeous and well-wrought; just cuts out that part of the F1's packaging aspect.

Re: Performance Exhaust for F1's

Unsure if this is legit or not - let me see what I can find out

....although they do have a good list of cars they do aftermarket exhausts for, including the Veyron, so you never know opcorn:

Re: Performance Exhaust for F1's

Looks like they just took a lead from the GTR exhaust system, look at some pictures of the road converted GTR's, very nearly identical.
Do they give a price?

Re: Performance Exhaust for F1's

From someone in the know , these exhausts will offer about 25-30bhp over the standard. Apparently this exhaust looks very much like what the factory offer as the more free-flowing of two retro-fit options (exclusive of straight-through pipes), and Quicksilver may have worked directly with Mclaren on their development.

Re: Performance Exhaust for F1's

wonder what else you could do to the engine to increase the power ie remap etc etc, well apart from a LM conversion.

I'm not sure increasing the HP would be a good idea. The F1 was designed to be the perfect drivers car, if you want more of a raw edge from your roadcar you might as well spring for a GTR.

Adding more power could make it louder, harder to drive, and less comfortable. But hey, we all have a different vision of the perfect car.

Re: Performance Exhaust for F1's

Was reviewing my files tonight and spotted this image in my folder for chassis #042. It was taken when the car was disassembled prior to being painted red by the previous owner. I recalled that we'd had a discussion here about this 'Quicksilver' exhaust and figured I would add this in. Ignore the word "Enzo" in the filename - the whole set was named that way and this certainly isn't an Enzo.

It appears to be identical to me.

Could this be #007 in their new PistonHeads ad?

Another angle:

The silver road car in the ad is #013 at AutoSalonSingen in Germany, but that image has been Photoshopped to give the impression of a QuickSilver exhaust being on that car.

Its worth also saying that the owner of 040 lives not half a mile from quicksilver exhausts not seen him for a while though
