1995 Geo prizm misses at higher rpm

I have a 1995 Geo Prizm 1.8 that misses at higher rpm. It has no problems at idle nor at acceleration. Only when reaching the higher rpm like, right before shifting. If it is in park I can rev the engine to around 2700 rpm and it starts cutting out to about 3500 rpm when it smooths out. I have changed plugs, wires, fuel filter and checked a few other things. Not sure what to do next.
