when the radio is part of the diagnostics of the vehicle It would be best to not remove the oem radio...mount the aftermarket radio in another location and with the new inputs for music usb/IPOD you should have a good sound system.../control....disconnect OEM radio from the speakers...

Do you need the OEM to reset the oil light/tire pressure light? I have a 2002 and you reset the oil monitor light by pressing gas pedal 3 times after you turn key to acc.

I believe to reset the tire pressure light, you pull headlight switch out to parking light position 3 times after turning key to acc. It then beeps and resets.

This is how you do it on my 2002 SS, so if it's different than your 01 LS, sorry

Re: annoying problem

jp, why did you post something that is totally to the left field from the Original poster?

to dairyman, most GM vehicles, i'm finding out, are just like that... weird that your owners manual didn't say that

i didn't know it also resets the tire pressure monitors as well... learned something new today
