Help with a toon

Hey guys I am stumped on how to color this toon in, I did the outline and now want to color it, and it looks like crap, HELP, I am posting the real photo and then the outline, Somebody please help me and color it in

well I don't think anyone is going to color it for you if that's what you're asking.

However if you're asking how you should go about it, well one way is to put in a base color, like a medium blue grey in this case, then look at your reference and add shadows using maybe a black or close to it and then highlights using a lite blue-grey.

You do not have to be exact. The urgency in your post kind of tells me that you may be younger than some of us up here, and I don't want to offend you, but the way to do it, is to do it.

You will get better by dropping some color in there and trying man. Your line work looks good. have fun. Take the pressure off and just enjoy. maybe print the linework on a few pieces of paper and use some markers or crayons or whatever and color a couple up, then try to duplicate what you like.

Thanks, Didn't mean to come off as in a hurry, Been working at it for a week and got fustered with it, Oh and not young,I am 48 and well new to chopping and tooning and wanting to learn, I did a side toon already and I think it came out ok, Just the front on shot with all the black has me going nuts


Just want to make it cool and your pointers are a big help

Hey I love your work, Watched the tut on coloring the VW on you tube, I am just starting and using Photoshop and well I am trying

Oh and just so you Know, I am 48 from Delaware and retired from Mechanicing for 25 years and now a Parts Counter guy, I built the car I am tooning and it is a 76 Nova narrowed rear roll bar so on, And the computer stuff is just a hobby that I do enjoy but can get fustered

That side view is awesome! Take your time . As you map it out you see the colors you need. Heres how i would start using the eyedropper tool.
