1999 Accent Sputtering
I just picked up a 99 Accent with 87,000 miles on it. Ran great for the first week. The other day I was going up a hill and it cut out for about 3 seconds and then went right about it's business. I now notice on the freeway when cruising, I can feel it cut for a second every once in a while. To me it seems like possible fuel pump failing. Any ideas?

Re: 1999 Accent Sputtering
Yes, it could be a problem with the fuel delivery. Test your fuel pressure.
I have a question for you, not related with your problem. What is the max temperature of your engine? The needle go to which portion of the gauge, 1/4 or 1/2? Because mine never exceed 1/4, it's normal? |

Re: 1999 Accent Sputtering
Yeah mine stays at about 1/4 of the way. I think it's a little above that, but it is normal.
Oh and my dad told me that since the car only had 86000 miles on it, it must have done a lot of sitting and might have water in the gas. I put some fuel treatment for getting rid of water and it worked. No more sputtering. |
