Question Leaking HG

So the high idle problem was fixed..low on coolant so it messed with the sensors. But my new question is say the fluid was half a gallon(no kidding) low because of a leak. I hear if it were to leak itd be from a head gasket. how hard is it to repair? And if I'm wrong on something please correct me I'm still learnin

Not sure exactly what you're saying in the 1st half of your post. Missing coolant doesn't necessarily mean it's the headgasket.

But for a headgasket, you have to pull the timing belt off and everything that goes with that and then pull the head off. Not a super easy job, but not too bad.

Re: Leaking HG

Just because your leaking coolant doesn't mean its the headgasket. There are TONS of places that coolant could be leaking from. Check your hoses, water pump, leaks around the thermostat housing, etc... The headgasket should be the last place you look for coolant leaks.

Re: Leaking HG

I forgot to add... check your oil for coolant. Drain it and see if any coolant is in there. That will usually result in a bad headgasket, but as stated above check everything else first.

Re: Leaking HG

you really don't want it to be the head gasket.
hopefully its something else (or nothing)
