Noise From Frt. Wheels

I have a noise that appears to be comming from the R/S front wheel area. I have a 2 wheel drive and the noise sound like a transfer case would if it was low on oil. I have run the truck to 50 mph and shut it off and coasted and the noise is there, so I know it is not motor/tranny related. Would bad wheel bearings make this noise?? When driving if I turn either left or right the noise gets less. I doubt that it is tire related too as I just switched the front tires and it's still there. Thanks for any reply 97 ranger XLT 2WD auto 3.0 6cyl. 134k miles

Re: Noise From Frt. Wheels

Put the front end on jack stands pull the wheel. Rotate the wheel by hand do you here it. Then pull the caliper and hang it out of the way do you still here it.
I think its one of these two items.
