Temp guage stopped working...kinda

OK, my temp guage is going freaky on me. Some days it works, others it only moves up to about the first line and stays there. No rhyme or reason I can see as to when it works and when it doesnt. The car seems to be still running at a normal temperature, never had any kind of overheating issues out of it ever, and the heat still works great etc... ideas?

Re: Temp guage stopped working...kinda

Thanks guys, I'll check the coolant lvl, althoug when I checked a few weeks ago (I was already having this issue) the lvl was fine. I haven't had any issues with losing coolant since I had to replace my intake gasket 125k miles ago (damn that orange crap) I'll check the wiring as well.

Re: Temp guage stopped working...kinda

It is possible that there is a ground issue with the temperature sensor? Or it could be the temperature sensor.
