01 Impala steering issue
Every time I make a turn with my 01 Impala, it sounds like a sqeaky door that needs its hinges badly oiled. I am wondering if anyone knows if the problem has something to do with the steering box or the transmission and what I can do about it?

Re: 01 Impala steering issue
Welcome to AF, where is the squeak coming from?

Re: 01 Impala steering issue
Can you duplicate the noise with the vehicle in park or does it have to be moving. If you can make the noise in park than it is likely a worn/rusted/semifrozen front end part.

it creaks like a door that needs its hinges oiled every time I turn the car. It sounds like it may be coming from either the steering rod or maybe the transmission, not sure? It happens when the car is moving.

Re: 01 Impala steering issue
i had one that recently did this same issue... you need to change your outer tie rods on both side to be better in the long run so it dont happen again...

Re: 01 Impala steering issue
Someone knowledgable needs to listen to this, can't be done from here, this will eliminate all the guess work.
