Does Denso Plug K16PR-P11 = PK16PR-11 ???

I ready to change out the plugs on my 2002 Trooper.

I've read about the need to only use Denso plugs, or I risk them not working.

Everyone says you need to use Denso K16PR-P11 plugs.

However, I can't seem to find those....all I can find for the Trooper is Denso PK16PR-11.

I'm assuming that they are one in the same, but was just curious if anyone else had any info.

Thanks!

Re: Does Denso Plug K16PR-P11 = PK16PR-11 ???

If you go to the Denso site you will see they are not the same, for one thing the PK16PR-P11 is double Platinum (ie, both electrodes are Plat plated), but either should work. Also, other plugs equivalent to the one Isuzu specifies will work fine, but may trigger false misfire codes. The Ion-Sensing ignition system uses the plugs as sensors when not actually firing, and that system seems to be sesnsitive to other plugs. I've used the NGK equivalent before in my 2000 Trooper with no discernable ill effects. You can get the proper plug online for around $8 ea, instead of $22 ea from the dealer.
