99 grand am power window problem
Hello, I found your forum when looking for help replacing water pump. Info I got was real help and got it fixed. My problem today is that my driver side window has problems going up and down. After opening the door panel and removing the motor I noticed that the cords that move window are coming out of the spindle that the motor turns. I tried to pull them back in but one is so tight I can't move it. Is there a way to remove that housing that the motor sits in to get cords back. Im not sure if it goes around that spindle or it just got jammed up some how. Any help or info on how to fix this would be great...Thanks!

Re: 99 gram am power window problem
I know that you can on the Chevy Silverado. Usually what happens is when it gets stuck in the motor reel housing, the cable which is similar a bicycle brake cable. The cable starts to unravel and jams the cable reel. It would be better if you just replace the power window regulator, instead of trying to fix it. It does not work to fix. It you don't fix it properly the window can fall and shatter.

Welcome to AF lovs2build !!
doctorhrdware is probly right about the cable coming off the spool and jaming the unit. Here is a helpful link that covers the removal of the regulator. http://www.a1electric.com/grandam.htm
