88 F150 Flashing Check Engine Light

Hey All,

I am having an issue with my check engine light flashing while I accelerate. If I let up on the gas it goes out, doesn't stay on, until I give it gas again then the flashing starts. It will start flashing at about 15-20 mph all the way up to 45 mph, then sometimes it will stop flashing, and sometimes it continues to flash as you go faster...My MPG has tanked to 8, before it was a decent 15, I pulled the codes 32, 44, 42

Not sure where to start, if you have any suggestions, let me know...

Re: 88 F150 Flashing Check Engine Light

5.0 EFI Auto 200,000+ still seems to run good, just really bad mileage and the blinking light. I was having a problem with the idle dropping really low almost to where you thought it was going to die, but then it picks up on it's own. The light was blinking then as well.

As far as the codes, they are continuous memory codes...koeo

Is it the same behavior while warming up and after norm. oper. temp. is reached? KOEO(key on engine off) all codes mentioned posted w/o .engine running? What do you get for KOER(running)? I'd think there would be a o2 code too. What & when was the last work done on the truck?

Sounds like a Vac system leak. Warm up the engine . Take a propane tourch and set flow to a 1 inch flame then blow out the flame. Run it along the Vac hoses, connections and componants. When you hit a leak point it will smooth out the idle.
