start and then stops

Hi dear sirs,

I have a grand cherokee 09-94.After replacing a bad comp,the car start and for a couple of second and stop,and so going start and stop after a couple of second.I would like to ask,do i need to do a reprogram after replacing the computer.

As far as I know you should be able to hook it up and go with it. Question though, what made you think the computer(PCM) was faulty? Most times the PCM is not the problem, but rather a faulty input or wiring.
Once you get the engine started, will it stay running if you lightly give it throttle(1500 rpm). If so then you either have a vac leak, hoses between the maf and intake are loose, or your IAC is faulty. Best help is to let us know what the original problem was, then we can go from there.

Hi dear and beloved sir,

Thanks for your reply.The problem is fixed.It was the ecu that we bought from a junk yard,that was a junk.I borrow an ecu from another Cherokee and the car is working fine.We are going to order a bramd new ecu.
