Should I buy?

I've been thinking about purchasing a SUV and I've driven only a couple of the Oldsmobile Bravadas. I think they are by far one of the nicest looking SUV's. There is one that I have in mind, it is a 2003 with 87k miles. Seems to run and drive well and is in excellent condition but I wanted to come here and read through some of the forums. It seems that there have been quite a few problems with the 2002, which is the same style.

I'd just like some of your opinions on whether this is a vehicle that I should stay away from. Now that Oldsmobile is no longer, is that making fixing them harder?

Thanks..

Re: Should I buy?

The transfer case is an issue with all Bravadas built after 1997.
The one you have in mind may be still working pretty good which gives you half a chance. The transfer case fluid should be changed to the blue Autotrac II fluid as soon as you purchase this car.
100 miles later it should be changed again then you should be good for another 10,000 miles.
This year shares the same chassis/running gear/electronics as the Trailblazer and Envoy...service is available.
Someone else may know of other issues.
