2200 potential

So, I am going to ask in this forum to find out the potential of a 2200 ohv Gm engine. Thinking of building a street sunfire, don't want that mess of a quad 4. Any camshafts available for a 2200? Whats the potential here?

Re: 2200 potential

The engine has virtually no potential. The head flows extremely poorly. The few heavily modified turbocharged examples have only put down as much power as a stock Quad 4.

Dont waste your time, not much of a aftermarket for the motor. But they are good reliable motors if they are taken car of.

Re: 2200 potential

Drop a few thousand into them and a turbo and you can get prolly 300whp...

But I am talking extensive motor work.

eeeep. thanks a lot guys. I guess the only way to go with a 2200 is if i want to build a car that just looks the part.
