Power Steering Hose (high side) 92 CV
Cant for the life of me get this hose off to replace it. Does anyone have any tips on getting it off? It is in a difficult position, do I need a certain wrench to grab the nuts? Thanks

Re: Power Steering Hose (high side) 92 CV
I know nothing about CrownVics, but typically the 'flare nuts' on those rack-assembly hydraulic lines are hard to reach "in place". The tool I use is a crowsfoot wrench, with a 3/8" drive. And not just any crowsfoot wrench either, but a 6 point flare-nut crowsfoot wrench. Here is the URL for an image of a crowsfoot that has 12 points - but the 6 point kind will be less likely to round-off the hex corners.
http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/OBJECTS/21500/21470.JPG As you see its a www(dot)snapon(dot)com item, and they may have the 6 point wrenches in the trucks, but just dont show them in their e-catalog. I did a google search using "+crowsfoot +"flare nut" +point and turned up this URL: www.thefind.com/hardware/info-dr-flare That led me to this URL: http://www.algrovetoolsupply.com/cgi...I27318/search/ I only buy the sizes I need, since I am used to them costing $20-$40 apiece; so a cheap one might be made in China....though it might work just as well. Most of the ones I have I bought via local tool supply stores, as auto parts places seldom carry the really unusual wrenches. |

http://www.ntxtools.com/ SKT-4511 APT-7115 A lot of people use 5/8 but a 16mm is almost the same size I have both.
SK is about $95.00 APT is appx $35.00 |
