f150

have a 2000 f150 they changed the oil and put in 7 quarts when max was suppose to be 6 now i am leaking oil...could this of done it..some say yes some say no....who is right???any certified mechanics out there?

I had a 1997 F-150 5.4L I purchased new and it took 7.5 quarts to bring it up to full level on the dip stick. I ran it 98,000 miles and it never used oil and I changed it every 3000 miles.
