Cool How to program keyless entry for 1998 Buick Park Ave

please help myself on this project, I recently did the programing for my 1995 Buick LeSabre, just not sure if the same complies with this vehicle.

1) Jump pins 4 and 8

2) Turn key to ON position

3) Hold lock/unlock buttons on the remote fob.

4) When doors cycle through lock and unlock, the fob is ready.

Please let me know if this is the correct set of steps, Thank you...

Re: How to program keyless entry for 1998 Buick Park Ave

Our Buick Tips & Maintenance forum has the RKE programming for the '98 PA. See link below.

Quote:
1 Turn OFF the ignition switch.
2 Use a fused jumper wire in order to connect the data link connector terminal 8 (BLK/WHT) to terminal 4 (BLK).
3 Close all of the doors.
4 Turn ON the ignition switch. The door will cycle to lock.
5 Press and hold the following buttons on one of the transmitters for 30 second:
LOCK
UNLOCK
After a 30 second delay, the doors will lock and unlock.

Important
Do not turn OFF the ignition. If the switch is turned OFF, the first transmitter becomes inoperative.

In order to program extra transmitters, repeat Step 5.
Disconnect the fused jumper wire from the data link connector (DLC).

Re: How to program keyless entry for 1998 Buick Park Ave

how do I program my names into the DIC in my 1998 buick park avenue. I just purchased the car and when we use the key fob the DIC says welcome driver 1 and then the persons name. I am trying to put our names in and remove the previous owners names.

You need a GM scan tool(Tech II) to do that.........afraid you have to go to a GM dealership for this....
