Ignition key

Just wanting to know if there are any outlets to purchase the programmed key for the ignition without spending a fortune at a dealer! $100+ for a key?

Re: Ignition key

Welcome to the forum!

I've had good luck buying the transponder keys off of eBay, then getting them cut at the local hardware store. You still need to have the keys programmed to your car. Depending on the model year, you may or may not be able to program the keys yourself. It also depends on how many currently programmed keys you have.

Another option would likely be your local locksmith. Some can perform all of the above and probably for less than the dealer would charge.

Thanks for the info, Rod. I'll be contacting a locksmith today.

Re: Ignition key

The key PAT is $14 on ebay from midwest keyless inc. You take it to Lowes or someone who cuts keys, then program it according to their instructions.
