1996 Pontiac Bonneville
Hello, I have a 96 Pontiac Bonneville and when I start the car and put in gear the back wheels don't move like the back brakes are frozen to the drum, the same happens in drive and reverse I can force the car to go when I give the car gas
but the back wheels slide and not turn. This is very weird. Please help

Re: 1996 Pontiac Bonneville
You may have a sticking parking brake cable due to water intrusion into the cable (which has now frozen), or rust, old grease etc.
When cables stick like this, the brake stays on regardless of what you do with the brake release. Sometimes the cables can be freed up or need to be replaced, depending on where they have failed. Also make sure the parking brake pedal is not stuck down. |
