Manual Sliding Door will not lock/unlock

I have a 2006 SV6 - AWD - I noticed the other day that the sliding door will not lock/unlock with my keyless remote. The other doors lock and unlock. Any ideas.

welcome to a/f. clean the brass contacts for the door. thats should do it.

Tried that. Got it to work intermittently, but only still not working all the time. Any other ideas? Thanks so much for your response.

try spraying wd-40 in the prongs in the door that make contact with the plate on the door jam.make sure they move back and forth and are clean on the ends.these like to get corrosion on the ends[green stuff]

I tried spraying the contact plate and the prongs in the door with an electrical parts cleaner. Everything looks clean. The prongs move back and forth easily (i.e., spring back and forth) with no restrictions. I will try the WD-40 to spray in the prongs, but like I said they appear to be functioning properly. Any other ideas? Thanks.

from what i can tell the contact plate on the door jam is like a switch with wires on the backside of it. could be a loose wire on the backside of the plate or behind the one in the door as it looks to work the same way.are the ends on the door and the contact plate bright or dull looking ? might shine the ends and contact points on the plate with realfine emry cloth then wipe some dialectric cream on them to keep corrosion off.this is what i did to mine.

The contact plate is bright looking. I'll try some emry cloth and get some dialectric cream to put on the plate and prongs and see what happens. Thanks for the help.

what about the prong ends?as both the plate and prongs have to make a good contact

Got some emery cloth, cleaned the prongs and plate contacts real well, and rubbed dielectric grease around all contacts. Works perfectly now. Thanks so much!!!!

i had to do the same for both of my doors .the dialectric cream should keep the corrosion film off for a long time. glad it fixed it ,glad i could help..
