Painting Wheels Question

How would you go about painting the centre of the following wheels, is it just a case of masking the rims off? - all tips and guides welcome:

Re: Painting Wheels Question

That looks familiar.

From my own build thread:

I didn't like the look of gold centers, so I sprayed the centers with a mix of gold and gunmetal metalizers.

Re: Painting Wheels Question

I assume masking tape is no good for the job? You are correct it is a GT2 - any quirks or problems with the kit worth mentioning?

Re: Painting Wheels Question

I wouldn't say it couldn't be used, but it's not how I would go about it.

In my build thread, I mention the firewall and rear towhook.

Re: Painting Wheels Question

Adz, it might actually be easier to color the centers first, then measure diameter of the center section, cut a piece of low tack paper to that size circle, then use that as a mask, brush a little future floor polish to seal it, black enamel, then alcad 2.
