Re: Question on trannys

Well - if you have a 41TE tranny, the following is a list of vehicles that also have it.

I assume you have a Voyager SE, b/c the base Voyager only got a 3.3 that ran on Compressed Natural Gas in 1996.

Oddly enough - most of the vehicles on this list didn't come with a V6 option - the largest engine in several of them is a 2.4 or 2.5 liter I4.

This means that the preceeding vehicles all had the same or similar internals, and require the same rebuild/overhaul kit.

I'm pretty sure your friendly local junkyard owner is stupid - but I've never done the swap myself, so I can't say for sure.

Hopefully - this helps.

PS - often times, interchange manuals won't list that a transmission is interchangeable over something as simple as sensors needing to be swapped from the broken transmission. This is something you'll have to look into.

If you plan on doing the swap yourself, find a Caravan or Voyager w/ a 3.3 in the Junkyard, and pull whatever tranny you'd like to match up to it. If it bolts in, check that you can swap the sensors. Time consuming, but worthwhile in the end, usually.
