2000 Villager Power Window Button

I have a 2000 villager with power windows. Recently the button for the driver window was acting funny. When I would push it the window would not go up or down until i let go off the button and then it would only go up alittle. The other day I went to put the window down and the button stuck down and I had to lift the button up and now the window will not go up or down. Could it be just the button or the motor or both? Where could I get both at a good price? Is it possable a spring in the button broke and can the spring be fixed without replacing the whole unit?

Thank you.

Here is a link for a FActory Service Manual for the Villager/Quest. Scroll down to Quest and choose year. Villager and Quest are the same so manual works for both.

I would remove the window switch and clean with electrical cleaner that you can get in a can from wal mart, hardware store, and any auto parts store.

IF that doesn't work you will need to remove door inner panel and check for volatage at the window actuator for the window. If you have power at the actuator but doesn't work then you will need a actuator and if no voltage at actuator switch is faulty.

You may want to check with a auto salvage yard for wither part.

Re: 2000 Villager Power Window Button

It is more than likely the cable binding up in the window regulator. I had the same problem, if the window was all the way down and you tried to roll it up it would stop half way and you had to go back down , then up a few times before it would go up. The regulators are available without having to purchase the motor, from your local LM dealer for about $80 and it only takes about an hour to replace if you do it yourself. I have now done both doors and have had no further issues.
