front end flop..

I own a 96 ram 1500 4x4. Recently i have been having an issue with the front end which i am unsure of. When i crank the wheel and slowly try and turn a sharp corner it feels like the front wheels do a wobble. It feels like one hard flop sort of feeling. I dont know if something is loose or what to look for. Any ideas?

If it is doing that when you have it in 4wd, that is a commomn characteristic of these front ends.

I have the same prop with a 99 2500. It feels exactaly like it is in 4WD but its not. What did you find out with yours.

I've never ran across this problem when in 2wd, But you should check your ball joints and tie rods. Also make sure the ujoints are good, if they are real bad they could cause some binding even when in 2wd. Another thing to look at is the vacuum motor on the front axle, and make sure is it disengaging from 4wd. Even if the transfer case is in 2wd the the CAD might have a problem not letting it out of 4wd.
