2006 Grand Prix electrical issue?

Hi, my trunk latch, cruise control, and reverse lights all went out at the same time. I checked the fuses for the trunk and cruise visually, and they both seem to be fine. I'm not able to check the parking lamps because it appears to be wires running into a box.

The dealer near me will charge $100 just to check it out which seems to be ridiculously expensive to hook the car up to a tester.

Does anyone have any info or advice?

Edit: Its a V6 Base model

Check to see if you have a fuse marked B/U LAMP which should be for the backup lamps and may provide the 12 volts for the trunk release relay. Also, you might consider checking for 12 volts at the fuse sockets. All you need is a mulitmeter (DMM).

Re: 2006 Grand Prix electrical issue?

I missed the b/u lamp fuse, visually it was good too. Just to be sure I replaced all these fuses, but that didn't change anything.

Edit: Now the Check engine light has come on steady indicating an issue with the emission control system. Do i just need to bite the bullet and go to a shop?

Did you check for 12 volts at the fuse sockets with ignition to ON?

If you have an Autozone in your area you could just post the codes (DTC) here for opinions before spending too much. I don't think the other issues and the CEL light are related but you you never know for sure.
