1991 S-10 4x4 "Check Gauges" light
Bought the truck used with 109875 miles. It was out of time so I timesd it, changed plugs, wires, oil, filters. As I was test driving after all this, after about 30 miles the Check Guages light came on and it started to run real crappy. Could not get over 40 mph. The oil guage dropped from just over 40 to "0". Limped it home. Not real good at diagnosing but can fix after it has been. Thinking maybe oil pump?

Test oil pressure with a manual oil pressure test gauge.
Any check engine lights on?

Re: 1991 S-10 4x4 "Check Gauges" light
Just double checking.
You said you did an oil change. I presume you re-checked the oil level once you got home ? When you replaced the oil filter was the oil filter gasket ring still on the old one. I have had the old ring remain on the block and not notice it and ended up with one helluva mess. Just a thought. |
