'90 dodge dynasty shift indicator cable

i take care of about 17 cars for a nonprofit and of course they're all different. one of them is a '90 dodge dynasty, i don't know whether this is a k-car or what other chrysler models it matches so here it is. the shift indicator cable is broken, the little wire that slides the red indicator back and forth in the prndl window. on this car it's behind the dash window, with the speedo and such. anybody know how annoying of a job this is to do? i haven't checked availability from the local dealer for this little cable yet, hoping i don't have to make my own from necklace wire although it looks to be about the same in diameter and stiffness.
