Revell '69 Nova - Drag Version

This was built alongside the stock version for expanded review in the Feb. '09 issue of Scale Auto, just hitting the newsstands now.

As with the stock version, this was a breeze to build. The decals lay down well, but their top coat finish remains a bit sticky and has a texture to it, and they will get fingerprints. If you don't coat them with some sort of clear film (Microscale Decal Film is good), you will probably want to clearcoat over them after being applied, as I did. I used B-501 Gunze Mr. Topcoat as it's pretty safe to use over decals and is a great clearcoat in general (just not as easy to buff out as TS-13).

Excellent model! What scale are this Revell '69 Nova Kits? 1:25 or 1:24?

Re: Revell '69 Nova - Drag Version

Thanks for the replies!

I was happy these Novas don't use a lot of BMF; just enough to make it interesting, but not so much that it becomes a chore.

Glad you like the color scheme; as soon as I saw the black decals w/blue borders I knew I wanted to paint it silver. I love shooting decanted Tamiya gloss aluminum...great stuff
