Hi,
I have a 92 loyale 4wd wagon with a 5 speed manual transmission. I have not been able to shift it into 4wd with the push button all winter. This morning I popped the hood and snugged up all of the vacuum hoses by hand, and the 4wd engaged, but I cannot disengage it with the push button. I have checked all of the fuses and none of them are blown. I know the button is sending some sort of signal because my radio crackles when I push it. If anyone has any experience with this problem, or if you just have some ideas of how I can troubleshoot it further, your help would be appreciated. Thanks |

Re: 92 loyale 4wd won't engage/disengage
A little additional information:
I recently had the fuel pump and fuel filter replaced by a mechanic. The wagon sat from late July to early November waiting for a repair. Our first snowstorm was accompanied by several days of subzero temperatures. I had not tried to engage the 4wd for several months before either of these things happened, so I'm not sure if the problem arose before the repair or the storm. |

Re: 92 loyale 4wd won't engage/disengage
I have seen same kind of posts at www.ultimatesubaru.org
Try it. Go to older generation of Subarus. I hope you will find help there. Sam

Re: 92 loyale 4wd won't engage/disengage
if all four tires arent the same exact size and brand also it could cause your trans. to bind up . could try backing up to release 4wd
