Water in engine oil

I have a 1980 MGB and I noticed when I check the oil that the color of the oil was greenish. I believe this might be radiator fluid. Is there anyone who can give me some advice as to the probable cause, where to look to confirm, and how to fix the problem?

If it is indeed water in the engine oil,my experience has always been a blown head gasket which can be serious.If it is bad enough,the oil level may even be higher on the dipstick.It would be a good idea to drain the oil and look more closely.You can also check the compression on each cylinder.A loss of compression in 1 or 2 cyl. would be suspicious.There are other ways which I won' t get into.Any mechanic should be able to help you.A new head gasket is the only answer.Good luck.Ben

Whatever it is, a blown head gasket, cracked head.......go 2 this site, it may save u money, either way, u will have 2 dish out an arm and a leg if u have 2 replace the gasket....cracked leak cure....http://www.detsco.com/clc/

i have a question. there is this 1994 saturn that i was thinking of buying. i went to go look at it and check it out, when i pulled the dipstick, the oil looked a little cloudy and the oil level was higher than the mark that it was supposed to be on, like it was overfilled. now the car seemed like it was running ok and it didn`t smoke at all. also they had told me that it would run hot on them at idle speed but when i ran it for a good while at idle speed, even drove it around, the guage stayed at a cool level. not once did it get hot. i was just wondering if the cloudy oil and the high oil level, even though everything else seemed ok, may be an indication of a blown head gasket? just wondering before i make the mistake of buying this car. Witches brews sometimes, notice I said sometimes work for a short while. They have been known to cause other problems along with what your trying to fix. If the head is cracked, (hopefully not), a blown or leaking gasket, then repair or have them repaired properly. Gaskets are easy to replace. Good used heads are available.
