Thumbs down conv Q's

a couple questions about conv top

1. i have a 92 lebaron gtc, i was wondering if there was anything specific i should know about changing the top before i actually started the job

2. would this job would be too difficult to do in my own garage. i currently go to a tech school so i know alot about cars, and my dad owns his own auto shop so i would have his help if i needed it.

3. i really dont have that much money, so if i did this job the top cant get unusable by messing it up, the old top has 2 big gashes and leaks water through the rear glass so it has to get done somehow

(local upholstery shop wanted $1400 to put the top in!!!)

thx in advance
