I have a 1992 gmc safari and two weeks ago i noticed it was taking a little longer to change gears. The next day it got worse and now it only changes gears if i mash the gas(very high rpm's). I installed a transmission filter and no changes whatsoever. The seals are not leaking. Is this more likely to be the torque converter?

Re: 1992 GMC Safari changes gears at high rpm
Take a close look at the TV cable and bracket, and consider adjusting the cable ratchet stop. Between the governor and TV cable, the shift points can be altered greatly. If the TV cable is misadjusted, the transmission could be wearing unnecessarily.
You should be able to SEARCH these forums for the proper procedure for adjusting the TV cable.
