Time to re-introduce, and entertain ideas on this problem

Hey guys, I have been away for awhile, been a member for a long time now.

If some of you recall I had a project 1991 eagle talon tsi, I got it up and running and broke the engine in, and drove it for about 90 miles, then the transmission just decided to not engage anymore. It is an automatic transmission, and I figure it might have ran out of fluid causing none of the gears to engage, I had it towed to see if if I could get it fixed while I was away at college. I found out that when the car was started up again, the oil pump seized... It was a brand new pump, brand new build for everything. Not only do I have to deal with most likely getting a new transmission (need to anyway) but a possible rebuild with my car. I did not drive my car after it was heard that car just came to a sudden metal halt. I am assuming damage is minimal, the timing skipped about 2 teeth.. So i most likely need new valves, maybe a new head...

Now the project begins... I think, I am planning on renting out a 10X15 storage unit to work on the car there so my parents don't poop themselves. Do you think that is big enough? How much damage do you think I may have caused by it seizing like that?

And with the said parts needed to be changed, do any of you have good and reliable parts for the up coming endevour?

Thanks, Aaron

Wow long time no see. Welcome back. Sucks about the timing and everything.

If you skipped 2 teeth your valves are going to be shot. Hopefully the pistons are still good. Were you driving hard or just cruising?

I always wanted to get a storage unit for my car but never have. 10x15 seems small to be but I may be wrong. I'm used to small work space anyways but just seems a wee tiny.

Wow I never thought we'd see you around here again. It's been forever man...

Geez... This sounds about as bad the the results to my start up... My oil pump was brand new too. I wonder if that's what happened to mine...

In relation to the original topic... I have lots of oddball parts laying around for a 6 bolt. Hit me up on some of the smaller things. I may just have extras. lol

HOLY SHIT, its fucking MexRocket! Good to see ya!

As for the unit, my buddy and I were going to do the same thing. There's a couple problems with that... first off being that there wont be any plug ins and maybe not even any lights. Nextly, your car is just under 14.5 feet long, so you wont have shit for room on the front and back and less than two and a quarter feet on each side. The sides should be manageable and the front would be if you could open the door, but I am sure that you wont want to do much of that with Chicago winters.

I wouldnt be too quick to nay say the valves, I think you can go two teeth and still be ok but I am a bit out of practice with DSMs. Even so, if the valves did ding off the head I bet the impact was small enough that a simple set of valves would do the trick... pistons are rarely ruined from valve dings and I wouldnt imagine the head is bad shape.
