ACS BMW Z4 coupe

It started out as a Maisto BMW Z4 convertible...

Made my own set of 20" ACS wheels, using 20" Aoshima MB5 as the base,

Trashed a Fujimi Porsche Cayman for the roof..

Dremel the rear trunk, front and rear bumper off and start making the body and headlights..

After numerous boxes of Tamiya 2 part epoxy putty and hours of sanding.. this is where i am at today..

Will start working with the interior soon.. will post more pics..

Re: ACS BMW Z4 coupe

Nice conversion so far, but I think the rims are a bit oversized - I can't even believe I say this as I love modern looking big rims-lowprofile tires combination...

Re: ACS BMW Z4 coupe

Looking good. I've been thinking about modding a few of my die-cast models as of late. I'm planning to go old school though ("lead" work).

Just another question: Why didnīt you choose a Coupe for the base of your work, f.e. from Schuco or Motorama (f.e. http://cgi.ebay.at/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...%3D4%26ps%3D41 or http://cgi.ebay.at/MOTORAMA-DIE-CAST...mZ290272232056 )

The wheels does look a little oversized but since the real car runs 20" wheels, i guess i will stick with these wheels for now. I bought this maisto diecast a few years ago, that is before they have the coupe version.

Progress has been little slow, this is my very first attempt with two tone body color and custom decal, i will touch up the paint and the decal later on. The body and the wheels is yet to be clear coated.

covered the wheels with BMF and custom decals

Started working on the interior but didn't take pictures yet. any comments are welcome. thanks for looking
