Mercedes Benz 600SEL C.C. LEE

Yep, I bought a C. C. LEE kit. I have to say, its not bad! It is obviously a Tamiya knock off(see instructions pic), but most of the molds are clean, there are some mold lines and swirls and uneven edges, but all in all it looks great! btw, on the tamiya version, are the windows in one undetailed part of plastic. Mine look like they are missing some details.
here are some pics(my camera isn't brilliant )

look at the recommended cement(Tamiya brand )

I'm thinking of building this with a tan interior and a black and silver two-tone paint.

I'm starting to change my mind about this kit. the pieces looks OK on the tree, but the dash has gaps when put together as well as many other parts. I may have to fill some of the larger holes.

It does look a little different. But yea, those Lee kits don't appear too crappy.

The main difference I see is that my windows are quite thick, and that nothing fits snugly. Nothing that a little work can't fix.

I've seen the Lee kits up close and I've got the Tamiya versions, and the Tamiya is worth the extra over the Lee. Not even close. The Lee kits look to be $5-$8 quality. The mylar stickers instead of decals and metal transfers...

Some guy in our local club bought a bunch of these when he visited China and was trying to get $20 apiece for them. I wouldn't give him $5. And the fact they ripped off Tamiya so blatantly...I don't want to support that kind of business. The Tamiya is worth the extra.

If you type in S600 Limo on completed gallery, you will see my finished Limo which I made from 2 CC Lee kits. The kits are not that bad if you have the skills but Tamiya is in another class. Just keep an extra set of Tamiya chrome emblems on hand when you finish this kit.

Update, the tan interior looks better in real life, all interior parts need a repaint

Glass isn't cracked, there's just a hair in there , but it is thick!
