lights keep earthing out

Hi guys my clio rear lights keep going funny on me, ive tryed rubbing them down with a wire brush but no luck, what happens is if i hit the brakes the fog light on the dashboard comes on and the indicators light up slightly, sometimes the indicators dont work when im braking which is bad at a roundabout, anyone had this problem and how did you fix it

Also does anyone know if its possible to fit the phase 2 lights with the clear round part in the middle to the older phase 1 mk2, thanks
