My wifes '99 Ram 2500 w/ Cummins 24 valve is dropping oil from the area around or from the crankcase vent tube (right side forward on engine). This is increasing in quantity daily, and started about a week or 2 ago. Any ideas would be appreciated!
Hope you had a Merry Christmas!

Re: '99 Ram Diesel throwing oil
Sounds like you lost yer puke bottle.
There's a plastic "puke" bottle the vent tube sticks into in that area. It catches oil droplets in the blow-by gasses. You drain the bottle every time the oil is changed.

Re: '99 Ram Diesel throwing oil
Thanks for the tip, Chris, but I think this is more serious. I don't recall ever seeing a puke bottle on either of my 2 Dodge diesels, and this one wasn't dropping anything about 6-8 weeks ago. A pro trucker friend thinks I may have some sort of crankcase ventilation blockage issue.
I will put something on the tube to see for sure how much is going out.
